BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD – A fire broke out at a commercial building in Rosedale on Wednesday afternoon, reportedly sent one person to hospital and attracted dozens of firefighters to the area. Traffic was blocked around US 40 / Pulaski Highway and MD 7 / Philadelphia Road during the emergency response, which continued into rush hour.
At around 4 p.m., crews were called in to a building fire in the 7300 block of Philadelphia Road, where they found a heavy fire.
A car caught fire while a mechanic was working on it in an auto garage, requiring rescue, according to WMAR, which attributed the widespread response to the number of flammable items.

Nearby businesses have also closed due to the fire.
A mechanic was injured in the fire and required hospitalization, according to WJZ.

Route 7 was closed on Route 40, the Maryland State Highway Administration reported before 6:15 p.m. the lanes were closed, officials said.
After 7:00 p.m., traffic was slowed down on Route 40 West, which was closed to Rosedale Avenue.
