The owners of an auto repair shop in Richmond, Ohio discovered they were running out of space to service their many customers. Roadside pastime expanded to include a location at 519 Canton Road in Wintersville, OH.
Mayor of Winterville mike petrella and other village leaders welcomed Excited and Sherri Eddy and their new location with a recent groundbreaking ceremony.
Randy said they opened the Richmond site, also on State Route 43, five years ago, but had been repairing vehicles for at least 30 years.
After graduating from Brooke High School in 1983, he studied at Russ Palmeris the automotive repair class.
Sherri, a 1988 graduate of Wintersville High School, said the two met when a family member suggested she bring her own car for repairs.
Originally from Wintersville, she had worked for many years at the local blacksmith oil station and he had been a maintenance supervisor for various companies when he decided to open the garage in Richmond.
Sherri admitted that she was a reluctant supporter of the idea and saw the business as an expensive side hustle for Randy.
She explained that the name of the business was born out of the idea that it was simply a hobby for Randy, as well as the “Roadside Sam” CB handle used by her late father, sam williams.
“Five years later we have two locations and I’m much more grateful,” Sherri said.
