Automovill launches a learning management platform to improve the skills of automotive mechanics and technicians

Automovill launches a learning management platform for mechanics and technicians to help them improve their skills. The platform will be available as photos and texts, or as videos in different Indian languages.

Automovill, an automotive aftermarket startup, has launched a learning management platform for mechanics and technicians to help them improve their skills. Automovill launched the platform in partnership with Scaffold Technologies. The goal of this platform is to upskill auto mechanics across the country by giving them access to information on different vehicle servicing and maintenance techniques, as well as the challenges they would face.

The training material will be available as photo and text or video for each brand and model. Currently, the service is available in English, Hindi, and Kannada, and as the platform grows in popularity, other languages will be included. The platform will benefit around 5 million mechanics who do not have the proper/adequate knowledge and standard operating procedure to handle different cars.

The learning platform is AI and ML based which will allow a technician to view video/visual text of the latest makes and models, straight from engine, suspension, clutch to brakes . They have access to the operation of parts, including mechanical and electrical operation.

Speaking about the launch, Mridu Mahendra Das, Co-Founder and CEO of Automovill said: “In a country like India, we have about 20 OEMs in the current scenario. Every 3 to 6 months, these equipment manufacturers launch new vehicles that would have different functions. However, against the tide of the launch, there are approximately 5 million technicians who are not yet trained for these new models.

“The training and maintenance knowledge gap is obvious. The PMT was launched to fill this gap. We will keep updating it with the latest AI, ML and AR technologies to add more and more tools to improve the skills of the automotive mechanics and technicians community. By the end of 2023, Automovill aims to hone approximately 5 million semi-skilled and skilled technicians across the country, with a presence in over 100 cities. The platform will be available in all major Indian languages. »
